Portland Junior Pirates

SACO, ME - Recently, the Portland Junior Pirates sponsored a girls U14 team that participated in a tournament in Marlboro, Massachusetts where they were very successful. The girls took first place out of a total of nine teams to advance to the championship game and win it all.

The championship game was a close one, trailing 3-2 late in the 3rd; the U14's pulled their goalie to tie it up using an extra skater with 4 seconds left. Late in the 3rd overtime the girls scored the game winner to finish on top over one of the top Canadian teams. After the tournament, other teams coaches and parents gave many complements on the teams talent and sportsmanship.

The Portland Junior Pirates are excited to hear about the success of the girl's team. The Pirates also look forward to the addition of more girl's teams in the near future and hope to continue growing those programs.
